Create What AI Could Never.
One of my guiding principles for 2026 (well, forever??) is this:
🧠 How can I create work that AI could not?
At least right now, AI can’t run my community storytelling nights. AI can’t host the Gorge Dating Show. AI can’t effectively facilitate conversation spaces around menstrual equity in the backcountry.
My best opportunities, my best work, my most impactful relationships, have come from doing the things that AI just can’t or won’t.
I’m more unhinged than the code is trained to be. I change my mind and try new things in a more fluid way than ChattyG would. Instead of saying, “Excellent! You’re right, that’s your perfect message! Would you like me to make an optimized LinkedIn post and Instagram copy for you next?” I will say “Actually, that sounds bland and vague and doesn’t let your sparkling personality shine through. What are you censoring here?”
People hire me because I have a unique experience of humanity that fosters vulnerability in a flavor that ChattyG hides from. My events thrive because you just can’t find that style of connection on the internet.
Yet sometimes I get sucked the thought: “Wouldn’t it be easier to let AI do it?” And then I remember:
Not using AI is, indeed, more difficult. But for creative work that’s truly original and unique, that’s the point. The difficulty is what makes you grow.
And I’m committed to growing and sharing my ideas and taking risks beyond the 0s and 1s. So I’ll continue to ask myself this year: “How do my own BLOOD, SWEAT + FEAR craft a story that AI couldn’t write?”
Suggested Practice: When starting a new project, don’t jump right to ChattyG in step 1! Brainstorm with… get this… your own brain. You can pull AI in when you need feedback, outlines, reiteration, and beyond, but if you want your idea to be truly, wonderfully unique, make it YOUR IDEA.
